Readyman has so much material we are going to spread it out into another month. No hurry to finish.
Next week, we are hoping to start Artist or Traveler.

Ready man
A new adventure working with 10 year olds. Especially only one 10 year old. This blog is to document what we do and for what activity badges so that it can be used again when other boys come into the program.
There is one boy in the group until next October. He recently received his Weblos and is working on his Arrow of Light, so we schedule around whatever he would like/needs to do to acheive his awards.
Readyman is one of the required activity badges for AoL.
First meeting
We discussed the learn, commit points (req 1)
Be strong
Be calm
Be clear
Be careful
and discussed what First Aid is.
Activity: Items from a first aid kit were placed on the table, discussed and then covered up to see how many could be recalled. Items could be drawn or listed.
Second meeting
Activity: Readyman Rounders-- Answer questions about cuts/scrapes, burns, choking, etc. Shoot a basket into the hoop to double points (1 point for correct answer, 1 point for making basket, 3 points for "3-pointer questions"
Discuss bites, bleeding
Treat: Popcorn balls
